SEDATION DENTISTRY

Imagine going to the dentist and finding out that you, or your child, have a large number of fillings, crowns, root canals or extractions to complete? Your fear of going to the dentist has been what has brought you to this point. And now, the words you have been avoiding for years are becoming a reality...sound familiar? 

 

Now imagine the possibility of completing all of that work, in one dental visit, and having little to no recollection of it! That is NOT a dream, that is sedation dentistry!

At Boynton Family Dental Arts, we understand that dental anxiety can be difficult. And the last thing that we want for you, is your fear of going to the dentist keeping you from completing the dental treatment you deserve and require to lead a healthy, pain free life. That is why we offer several different levels of sedation to our patients! Whatever your needs may be, we are here to make your experience with us as comfortable as possible.

•    Level 1- Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) 

Available to patients of all ages. Administered by breathing through a nose piece. Patients are put on 100% oxygen for several minutes prior to completion of appointment and all effects diminish. Does not require the patient to have a driver with them.

•    Level 2- Conscious Sedation​ 

Administered to adults in pill form. Patients are required to take 1 tablet 1 hour prior to dental appointment and then given an additional tablet chairside. DOES require the patient to have a driver and effects take several hours to wear off. Patient is awake and able to communicate but typically has no recollection of the appointment the following day.

•    Level 3- Unconscious Sedation 

Administered intravenously, here in office, by a CRNA.  Special Anesthesia Services, also known as SAS, is the company we have partnered with now for over 15yrs and they are phenomenal.
